Fill a bucket with hot water and a few drops of dish soap. Use a cotton rag or an old cotton towel to wash the windows and frames. Next, take a clean rag, rinse in hot water and wipe down the area. You can now use an ammonia or alcohol-based window cleaner or just use a half cup of white vinegar to a half gallon of water. Utilize newspaper instead of expensive paper towels. This method is also effective, as it leaves the area streak free. If this becomes overwhelming, remember, you can always call us out to do the job.
Chewing Gum
You can remove chewing gum from most surfaces by dissolving it with either peanut butter or regular butter. Only use it to remove gum on nonporous surfaces such as floors or you’ll create a greasy stain. Also great for removing gum from the children’s hair! On fabric or carpet first freeze the gum with an ice cube and break away the frozen pieces.
Wine Stains
You can apply a mild detergent to a sponge, then gently dab the stain. Apply just a few drops of white vinegar that is combined with water (or you can use ammonia combined with water). This combination should be a ratio of one part white vinegar/ammonia to two parts water. Follow this treatment up with cold water flush.
Bloodstains on carpet can be cleaned by using hydrogen peroxide, then flushing the carpet with cold water. You will need to repeat the process several times. Please note that discoloration may occur. Or, you can pour cold milk over the bloodstain, then blot. Again, you will need to repeat this step. Always use cold liquid/water on bloodstains, since warm/hot water can embed and set the stain.
